The Good Life

Nain and Taid gave William a beautiful antique wooden baby's beach chair this weekend. It is SO cool. I want one!

He spent Monday afternoon in the pool, drying off those little tootsies in style.

Happy Memorial Day

We went to my parents' house in Boalsburg for the Memorial Day festivities (Boalsburg is said to be the birthplace of Memorial Day) and as always, their house looked beautiful for the holiday. This was taken Sunday afternoon while my Dad grilled in preparation for a nice dinner.

Who's next?

There are some cute shots of Cate and Craig during their first dance, and I had a hard time deciding which to post on this blog - ended up liking this action shot of the bouquet toss.

Summer Haze

I love playing with the light around sunset. This was taken in the garden in Jeff & Barb's side-yard. It had rained, and was gray most of the day until dinner time.

Explorers

We were out of town Thursday night -Monday for a wedding and Memorial Day weekend. I of course took photos every day, but didn't post them while we were gone. So here we are! One great, extra long weekend in photos. I'll post them all separately to stick with the 365 layout.

First, William and his friend Sarah (they're about 10 days apart) at the Please Touch Museum in Philly, having a great time in the River Adventure room:

Dusk

Went on a little stroll tonight after W was in bed, around 7:30, just because the light was so pretty. It was getting a bit too dark by the time I took this shot, but I still like it.
Summertime, and the cotton's (
well, grass, really) high...

Happiness is:

This.

Sundaying

Drizzly, gray Sunday. Mommy's photo session postponed, and no plans. Nothing stopping us from an afternoon at a new park.

An Engagement

I am not posting any of the photos taken on Friday, 5/20 as they were part of our family's Father's Day presents and have to wait to be revealed until the actual holiday.

Here's one of the first photos I've started editing from a Saturday morning (5/21) engagement session at my favorite location. Congrats to C&P on their upcoming September wedding!

Another rainy day activity

Found a good use for my used seamless paper!
Somebody loooved it.

Splish, splash

Well, it's been raining for 5 days. We had to do SOMETHING outside. During a break in the showers we rain out and William learned the joy of jumping in puddles. Rubber duck came, too.

Off-camera flash

Playing with off-camera flash this morning (the flash is placed on a stand and fires remotely when I press the shutter button on the camera) - pretty fun. Can create some neat, dramatic lighting, which Georgia so happily demonstrates here. Doesn't she look thrilled?

A trick.

How to get an 18 month old to stop running around, and look at the camera?

"William, is there a BUG in Mommy's camera?"

Cue curious gazes and big, big smiles!

Upside-down William

I did snap a photo of my beautiful friend the bride on Saturday, but I'll let her decide when photos from her wedding day are posted online.

This was from today, after we got back from being out of town for 2 nights.
We missed our little muffin so much!

Daddy-to-be

Had a maternity session on Friday with the nicest couple, and I was loving this cute little moment, catching Dad looking at Mom. Usually these shoots are all about her, but of course he is thrilled and just radiating excitement, too.

Mr. and Mrs.

I'm a bridesmaid in one of my best friend's wedding this weekend, and did the calligraphy for her place cards. Congratulations!

One of those days

It's been a busy week, and I realized in the evening on Wednesday that I hadn't picked up my camera all day.

Alas, a quick "Let's see what I can find on the porch" shot:

(Im)patiently waiting

These sunny mornings are just too much for William to resist. This was taken today around 7 a.m. He did this on his own - begged to go out on the porch, and promptly plopped down in his waterless pool with a bath toy. Let's have some swimming weather, already!

Freshly cut grass

I love that smell - it means that Summer is coming. Yesterday William took his lawnmower for a spin outside. Bare feet. What could be better?

Engaged

I could post about 50 pictures from this engagement session last night at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Since I can't choose just one, here are two.

Awe

In looove with the tortoises at the zoo today. It's hard to take a photo of him smiling at times like this - he had a GREAT time, but spent most of the afternoon staring and pointing with wide, wide eyes.

Smooth

Took this last night (Friday 5/6) - I am still on track for taking a photo every day, but need to get better about blogging them the day of!

Was waiting for a client to arrive and was playing around with long shutter speeds. This was a 1 second exposure (for reference, I usually shoot at 1/160th to 1/250th of a second).

I like the effect and will definitely be going back, with a tripod next time.

More Mother's Day...

Taken Thursday, 5/5

Had a fun maternity session last night and was so excited to start editing that I forgot to post one for my 365 blog. Here it is, another beautiful Mommy just in time for Mother's Day.

What a face

There are certain cute faces that I am obviously partial to (William, all the little newborns...) but this face used to get more attention around here, and I do still love it.

Miss Georgia Beasley, also enjoying some quality porch time of late.

Barefoot and happy

We are getting LOTS of great outside time lately. It's been so nice out. William now opens the screen door to the porch and hangs out there, dragging his toys out one by one.

May Day

I feel like I've been posting a LOT of William (and portraits in general) lately, so something to change it up:

And, because I can't help myself... playing today at a little local May Festival:
