Color!

Got 2 new seamless (backdrop) colors. Haven't tried the pink yet, but here is the very first test shot with the blue. I like it. It's happy!

Foiled plans

Taken Friday, 7/8

Friday we'd be planning to go to the pool in the evening when Esch got home from work. It'd been so hot and muggy all week, and it sounded like fun to take W for an evening dip.

Of course starting at about 3:00 we had torrential downpours and flash flooding, thunder and lightning. Oh well.

For lack of anything else to shoot that day, I snapped this after the rain stopped.

It's completely SOOC - not even cropped. I love the purple flower bokeh in the bottom left-hand corner.

Tiger Lily

Isn't it funny the things you remember from being little? The house we lived in when I was 4 or 5 had Tiger Lilies along the driveway. At least, that's the memory I have. I'm not even sure if that's what they're really called.

Took this tonight while waiting at a park for a client to arrive. Such a summery flower.

Taken Tuesday, 7/5
(and I'm officially caught up! I've been taking photos every day but after being at the beach for a week and then gone again this weekend, I was behind in posting. More than halfway through the year!)

Evening

We were out of town this weekend, and drove 6 hours home on Sunday. That night rolled around without me having taken a picture all day, and W was already in bed, so I snuck out on the porch. These are the flowers on the pretty dogwood that hangs over our deck.

COLOR!

It's been dreary around here. Snow, ice, rain, slush.
Today I had a huge treat - got to spend an entire day with 20 photography friends at Longwood Gardens.
My eyes are way too tired to edit these now, so all of the above are straight out of the camera.
But of course it was such a great way to spend a Saturday. Fellow photo nerds, conversation, and gorgeous flowers.

A little color

There's nothing better than having your Mom around! "Nanna" came to visit this weekend and was a lifesaver as always. She also came bearing flowers. Thanks, Mom! Don't know what I would do without you. These look so happy and bright against the cold, cold snowy days outside.
