It starts tomorrow.

I've been thinking about doing a 365 project for a while now.

I'm really thankful for this hobby. It's a creative outlet and also just happens to preserve memories. What could be better?

On a typical day, I take, at the very least, several photos. Of course there are also many days when I shoot 100. Taking a photo each day won't be the hard part - I expect it to be taking the time to blog them. I won't be too strict, and if life gets in the way, causing me to miss a post or two, that's fine. I'll post 3 pictures from the past 3 days if need be. The real goal is to get my camera and lenses out, and to keep learning.

Many of the photos I take now are of William. I'd like to branch out a bit more, and challenge myself. I think my favorite type of photography will always be portraits, but I'm ok with that. Hoping to mix in some landscapes, still lives, architecture, nature, etc., too.

Whew. This is quite a task. By far the most ambitious New Year's resolution I've ever made. I hope you'll enjoy checking in from time to time. I'll do my best to keep it interesting.

With a little luck and a bit of work, I hope to have my final post a year from now, on December 31st, 2011. Who knows what will have changed by then. This has been the most incredible year of my life, thanks to our little man. It's like starting completely over, and living life through his eyes as he learns and discovers, falls and plays. Appropriate. A new project for a new year.

Bye-bye, 2010!

  1. I love this:

"This is how my husband says my son will remember me from his childhood."

I'm starting to think my daughter will feel the same way about me. =)

I'm excited for this challenge! And also to follow the journies of everyone else (and I'm sure to be inspired by everyone!!)

  2. Good luck! That is quite an undertaking - but wow, what will the world look like a year from now? I mean, what lens will you be using as you view this wonderful space called life. I bet your lens will change many times, just as your little man will. Life unfolds its secrets and you will capture them for all to experience. I look forward to each holy day!
